Christmas 2020 - a challenging time for us all

Christmas 2020 is going to be a challenging time for all of us. COVID-19 means that we have to behave very differently this year compared to usual. For many, this season is a time of parties and family get-togethers....but not this year. We must all continue to adhere to the recommendations to prevent the spread of the virus. Many people are going to be alone this Christmas. Some, because social distancing prevents them from being with their families. Others, because their companion has passed away during this difficult year and they are facing Christmas on their own for the first time.

Christmas without a loved one

Every year facing the Christmas season after the death of a loved one can be difficult. Normally, this time of year is when families get together and the absence of a special member is always painful. This year, however, family gatherings are on hold and a bereaved person may be spending the holiday season alone.
If a member of your family has lost someone close to them this year, make sure that they know that you are thinking of them. Send a card or an email, give them a call, or pop a note through the door.

Christmas 2020- a virtual reunion

For many people, Christmas 2020 will be a virtual one. Technology makes it possible to keep in touch, see, and interact with people wherever they are around the world. However many older people do not have the skills to use this new technology. A good old-fashioned Christmas card with a little note and maybe a photo will really be appreciated by older folks. Many elderly people find it hard to keep up with changing addresses and to decipher a scrawled signature. So, please remember to make it clear who has sent the card and include an address. This allows the person to reply easily if they wish to.

A Christmas gift for a person who has lost someone this year

A self-fill pendant is a lovely gift idea for a bereaved person this Christmas. We carry a wide choice of designs in both our value and precious metal ranges. The recipient can insert a tiny amount of ashes of their departed loved one into the pendant using the minute funnel provided.
Each pendant is beautifully crafted and comes with a chain included. Alternatively, you can upgrade to a chain in a different length or design.
We also include a little screwdriver to remove the access screw to the inner chamber. The rubber gasket on the screw makes the compartment water and airtight for safe-keeping. All of our pendants come in a small presentation box that is ideal for gifting. It can be delivered to the address you choose for a very special Christmas 2020 present.
